Default Sugestion: Town additions and a point to owning them.

I know there are other threads on suggesting improvements to towns, but I haven't seen this one. I mentioned this idea in another thread but thought it better as a suggestion on it's own.

Why this is needed: Town ownership has no point currently. The small discount for goods is silly at best, and unless you own the capital cities who cares what you own?
Long term ownership is also at best sad. I can't see many people caring for owning the towns once future chapters come out, and I've seen many threads where more and more people are returning to GvG and not caring about the faction ladder.

What this does is merges the highly requested features seen in other places and makes them into a single upgrade.

The Suggestion:

Adding those highly requested money sinks such as hair dressers/stylists into the towns. Each town has a stylist that can alter your looks for a price. The look is different in each town, thus to get a certain look you'll have to go to a different town.
A "Tax" is then paid to the controlling alliance as someone pays this stylist.
The town now has some sort of monetary incoming - thus has a longer staying power and a reason to own all towns, not just the capitals.

The town clothes could also be added to each town as a different style and as they are purchased the tax is again paid out.

Added: The amount of tax collected would be based off of the individuals % of donated faction. - Suggested by TheOneMephisto -
Payout would happen once a day at the same time town ownership is checked and faction points are degen'd by the 10%.

Any suggestions, additions?

How would you give the "tax" to the guild/alliance? Maybe if there were guild storage....

The tax itself would be paid at the end of the day (at least in my mind set) at the same time the town is checked for ownership.

So at lets say 7pm CST the faction points degen the 10%, town ownership is checked and the tax is paid to the alliance. How does each person in the alliance get it? The server would check allied guilds for ownership and be paid directly to their storage (storage is shared by all characters on the account).

PS: Anyone worried about "free-riders"; that's an internal alliance issue and not something anyone but the alliance can work out.

So I'm assuming that something like everyone in the alliance would get an equal cut of the money? Or even better, if they implemented a faction tracking system maybe they could make it so that you get money in poportion to how much faction you donated.

Either way, /signed

That would be an awesome addition. Pay out by the % of donated faction.

So if 100 people paid 5k for the stylist on Tuesday, the 500k would be taxed by, lets say 10%. The tax amount would be paid to each person per the amount of donated faction. - Numbers are purely theory and I'm in no way saying 10% should be the amount taxed. I'll leave the amount to Anet to figure, they know the economy far better than I do.

I personally welcome any addition that gives a purpose to owning towns.

No no on the tax. That's just asking for trouble. People are gonna whine, I don't wanna pay 10% more, even if the tax doesn't make them pay more money. The way it is set up now, you either exchange your faction for an object you can sell, or you give it to your alliance. This is balanced in that you must make a sacrifice. In the first weeks of the hairstylist MANY many people will be using it. Which would mean an increase of in-game wealth by a huge amount.

also....JEWELERY (spelling) and Tattos (not armor tats, normal tats)

I want belli button rings and tattoos. But then again im a sadistic evil penguin eating bunny >_> <_<

So additions perhaps...jewellers...and also I know we have fireworks now, but what about parades, so liike 10k, and say 10 NPC soldiers march out and march around in formation for a bit. Or etc etc.
